Noise is not just randomness but plays a crucial role in construction procedural objects and shaders. I have run through the various types of noise supported in Houdini (using point VOP). Each noise component comes with a bunch of parameters that can be tweaked (and not all are in here).
The graph below shows the range of the noise between -1 and 1 (red is positive and black is negative).
Note that I might update this post if I discover some more stuff.
